how long does a car insurance company have before it must payout a claim?
I was hit from behind in my car and as a result my car was totaled. The police report says it was the fault of the other driver and his insurance company has already sent out a guy to look at my car. It has been approximately 45 days since the accident and the other guys insurance company says it needs a "statement" from their driver, who is not cooperating and has been unreachable since the accident. My lawyer even gave me a ballpark figure that the insurance company was talking about but, says that I must wait on them to reach their driver. Well if the other driver never shows up how long do I have to wait to get the property portion of the claim, that is to say when will the company have to legally pay for my car?

Does car insurance cover uninsured drivers?
Im 15 years old and im going to get my license in a couple of months, my parents say that when i get my lisence that im not allowed to drive unless they’re in the car because i am covered by their insurance, but their insurance covers the whole car and I dont want to have to pay for my own insurance if i don’t have to. So since it covers their car, is it possible for me to drive it alone without breaking the law?
If you live in their house you have to be added as a driver of the vehicle to go drive it by yourself.It’s very expensive on a vehicle that has full coverage.
How can I lower my car insurance if it is high because of bad credit?
I have been told that my car insurance is high because of a bad credit rating. I am currently enrolled in a DMP to pay down some credit cards and I’m sure this is why it is so bad. Will any insurance company work with me to lower my rate? I currently have GEICO insurance bc it was the lowest I could find. I lease my car and always make my car and insurance payments on time.
Isn’t it a joke that insurance companies can base your rate on your credit history!! Like, someone with bad credit just has to be a bad driver! This is an issue that needs to be addressed…just doesn’t make sense to me where the relation is…anyway, in the meantime…raise your deductable up to $500 or higher, but stash enough extra $ to cover it if you have the need to file…hang in there…in the meantime, hope you have cut up those cards!
